↳ Why?: If there are two words in the dictionary that can be used the describe Castiel, loyal and dedicated are the two most prominent. When the world is about to end, when things come crashing down, or when help is needed that is beyond the reach of human capacity, Cas is usually the first and last call to make. As an angel, Castiel was made to lack empathy and sympathy, two very human traits that have stuck with Cas in a way none of his family can understand, traits that have clung to him in a way that gives him pause whenever he’s asked to risk his neck for someone else’s battle, a fight that isn’t his own, and causes him to stick by their side even if death is certain, all because he was asked to be there—more recently with Dean asking him to head into battle against the Leviathan despite the fact that Castiel would much rather “watch the bees”. Additionally, Cas is very obedient to his friends, doing as they request even when it veers away from his personal standpoint on the subject, if only because he believes in the person giving the command.

Marvel Comics’ Astonishing X-Men is set to experience a new sound effect on top of its booms, whams, and sknits: the bong of wedding bells. Specifically, it’s the wedding bells of Marvel’s first gay marriage between longtime X-Man Northstar and his civilian boyfriend, Kyle. After pairing up the couple in 2009, Marvel is officially tying their knot in June’s Astonishing X-Men #51.
